Introduction

Students learn about information input, analysis and output, through a fun to use classroom database.

Activity 1

This pre-built “Favorites” database allows your students to enter their names, their favorite foods, sports, animals, etc., and to write or verbally record a short statement explaining why their entry is their favorite.   Students can individually present their favorites to the class by navigating through the database as if it were a presentation program.

Once many students have entered favorites, teacher and students are able to analyze the data for group trends by searching the database to find out how many times different favorites were entered and by having the program chart the results.  Students get to compare their individual choices to those of the overall group.
