Motivating students to write can be onerous.  This BookMaker program, developed in FileMaker Pro, creates a rich media environment that will get students writing and presenting.  A visual map for story planning is also an important tool included in this writing tool.

This pre-built “BookMaker” database allows your students to plan and then write a 10-page story.  It allows students to easily write their text, input pictures or even video on each page, record their voices as they read their text or comment on it, print out their books in book format, and to collect all their multimedia books in one place.  You can use it to facilitate the writing of fiction stories, or you can have the students use it to create an interactive “how to” manual with pictures or video explaining the steps of how to make, fix, or do some task.
