Introduction

Students learn about the economic and social/political systems (ES/P) that people develop to meet their basic needs through the ESP model.  By the time students have completed the interactive activities that teach the ESP model, they will be able to apply the model to any culture.  Ancient Greece is included as an interactive module that the ESP model is applied to.

Activity 1

PLEASE NOTE:

The ESP model and the Ancient Greece module that is included with it are works in progress.

When you click on the Start Activity link, you will be taken to the ESP model main page. To begin, working through the model, please click on “Learn the ESP model” and work though all the activities that you see in the drop down menu (you may have to click twice to get the drop down to appear).

After you have finished, you can move on to “Use the ESP Model” and click on Ancient Greece in the drop down.  This module (especially the social/political piece) is incomplete, as are the note-taking and "Use Your Notes" features.  We plan on offering these features to students in the near future, completing Ancient Greece, and developing modules for other cultures with teacher input.

Any suggestions for new activities or on how the program might be strengthened would be greatly appreciated! You can contact Kevin Murphy (kmurphy@inlets.net) with your ideas and suggestions.
